Inland Transport

What is inland transportation?

Inland transportation is the broader term covering all transport activities that go over land using various modes such as truck, rail or barge. This approach to land-based transportation ensures that goods can be efficiently moved across multiple countries and regions. Within inland transportation, several diverse options allow you to move cargo as per your business requirement. So, whether you want to move large volumes or smaller quantities of goods, we ensure that you can effectively meet varying needs.

Containerised and non-containerised shipment options for your unique needs

Full Container Load (FCL)

Provides exclusive use of the entire container space. This choice is ideal for large shipments.

Less-than-Container Load (LCL)

Allows sharing container space with other smaller shipments in a container via Ocean and is ideal for smaller shipments. Offers door-to-door service.

Full Truckload (FTL)

Used for large non-containerised shipments that fill an entire truck. The trucks can then be driven directly to their respective destinations.

Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)

Combines multiple smaller non-containerised shipments into a single truck, optimising space and reducing costs. This is ideal for smaller shipments.

Innovating together to tackle decarbonisation challenges

Collaboration is key to mutually achieving our ambitious decarbonisation goals. For White Sea Shipping, the ask is clear – to develop low greenhouse gas (GHG) impact landside transportation solutions by 2040 that will help you to decarbonise your supply chain journey further.

To achieve this, we are prioritising efficiency measures and promoting a shift to lower GHG emissions transport modes like rail and barge. We are also looking into lower GHG emissions energy and have started piloting biofuels and battery-powered electric trucks in collaboration with our customers.
